Homeless Prevention & Rapid Rehousing Program

Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP)

Program Description

IMPACT SOCAL seeks to assist individuals and families experiencing a temporary housing crisis on the West End of San Bernardino County* by providing short-term financial assistance to help prevent homelessness or help those experiencing or at-risk of becoming homeless to be quickly re-housed and stabilized.

IMPACT SOCAL has funding to assist a limited number of households each month living on the west end of San Bernardino County who are:

  • Currently residing in their own housing but are at risk of losing their housing and need a limited amount of temporary financial assistance to remain stably housed or to obtain new stable housing on their own; or
  • Currently homeless or living in temporary housing (including shelter, transitional, motels, or with family/friends) and need a limited amount of temporary financial assistance to obtain permanent housing on their own; AND
  • Temporarily lack all of the financial resources needed and support networks necessary to maintain or obtain stable housing on their own; AND
  • Have their own other resources to contribute to the remedy to the resolution to their permanent housing challenge and can demonstrate an ability to obtain and/or remain in stable housing on their own with a limited amount of financial assistance;

Priority will be given to households in situations like those above that live in or are moving to Rancho Cucamonga or Upland.

Households identified for limited funding assistance may receive:

  • One-time assistance with current or past due rent and/or utilities
  • One-time assistance with moving costs, security deposit and/or utility deposit
  • Short-term partial rent subsidy (up to 3 months)
  • Assistance with other household expenses deemed necessary to achieve housing stability

A limited amount of funding is available to assist a small number of qualified households each month. Meeting the minimum criteria for assistance does not guarantee that we will be able to assist you.

Requests for rental assistance can be submitted directly on the IMPACT SOCAL website, www.impactsocal.com. Please review the eligibility criteria and procedures outlined in this Program Description before submitting an application.

All requests for assistance will be reviewed after the 20th of each month for possible funding assistance in the following month. Requests will be prioritized based on the identified criteria and initial determination of ability to obtain/remain in stable housing with a limited amount of financial assistance.

Those applicants prioritized for possible funding assistance will be contacted by email and be required to provide documentation to support their need for assistance, other resources available to contribute to the remedy and ability to maintain stable housing after receiving this assistance.

Funding approved for households selected for assistance will be paid directly to the property owner and/or other identified vendors and not to the assisted household.
